                Chemical Valve

WD's industrial line of hardfacing alloys is widely utilized in the valve industry. It is applied to the contact surfaces and moving areas of the valve, such as the valve seat, to provide abrasion and corrosion resistance. Due to the main wear mechanisms, corrosion and erosion, in the chemical and petrochemical industry, our customers need the stableness which guarantee optimum efficiency of their plants.

Valve components are usually hardfaced with cobalt-based alloys. They are available in three forms: cast rod, electrode and powder, in which the cast rod is very prevalent in the industry and it’s used in SMAW. For application, WD welding material are primarily applied as overlay for carbon steel, stainless steel, and nickel-based alloys. For example, hardfacing valve seat and plugs using WD-Co 6 will produce a wear and corrosion resistant coating extending the life of the application. Many valves that involve high pressure, high temperature steam demand welding materials to withstand their harsh operating environment.

Our WD-Co products have demonstrated the necessary hardness characteristics and wear resistance properties to be used in valve applications. In addition, resistance to high temperatures is also a critical property as necessity of WD-Co alloys.

Wisdom’s rapidly growing WD-Co product line supplies most of the hardfacing demands of the valve industry. WD-Co products are ideal for adhesive wear, contact fatigue, corroision, and erosion. Their strength and ability to withstand these wear factors make WD-Co one of the most exceptional hardfacing consumables on the market. Typical valve applications include: ball valves, gate valves, butterfly valves, diaphragm Valves.
